Week Twenty-Six is up! A cross between Tetris and Puzzle Fighter, I’m pleasantly surprised at how this game turned out. Especially considering the convoluted path it took to get where it is.
I originally wanted to make a puzzle game based around the elements (earth, air, water, fire) using the new particle effects I built for Equatia this week. The idea was that when you connect matching blocks, they will have an effect on the board based on their element (fire would burn blocks around it, earth would smash blocks below it, etc.) Well, that turned out to be way too complicated. While I was testing though, I found that simply creating 2x2 squares to destroy connected blocks was quite addicting so, I ditched the elemental idea and rolled with this version.
This is the most fun I've had with a game I’ve made in a long time. My high score is 3859. Can you beat it?
